This is what I tell my daughter

Hug me like I'm the last one standing

Sink in and wrap your arms around me

Press your round cheek into mine

We are all of us too alone at times

and if I am standing between you

and the dark

And something you cannot face alone

If I am the edge of the earth for you

 I will shine
